As with the SpeedGeeking at Mashup Camp 1 (and subsequent camps_, we'll be using SpeedGeeking (like speed dating) to judge the best mashups. If you're entering the best mashup contest, be sure to list your entry(ies) below

  1. APPLICATION: Twitterlicious -
    1. DESCRIPTION: Mashing up a mobile version of Twitter with the ability to clip Tweets to Del.icio.us &/or Ma.gnolia.com for later perusal on a PC when you're back at your desk. (Email for a code to check it out ahead of the camp.)

  2. APPLICATION: $haring Paid Easy -
    1. DESCRIPTION: Mashing up several financial tools to enable group money management among people organizing events, activities or just needing to collect (and pool money) from a group of people. - Would have been perfect for collecting admission fees for Mashup Camp ;)
    2. TECHNOLOGIES USED: .NET, XML Web Services, Web Parts, AJAX, Asynchronous Grid Computing, Identity Verification APIs, Financial ACH and Credit Card APIs, SMS text messaging by StrikeIron, and group-money APIs by Billhighway.

  3. APPLICATION: Bookmark Cleaner -
    1. DESCRIPTION:Bookmark cleaner will parse you Del.icio.us &/or Ma.gnolia.com account for bad urls and allow you the chance to fix them. It finds malware sites and phishing sites and 404 not found urls in your bookmark list. It will let you delete these sites once found. It also lets you search your bookmarks by tag and delete more than one at once. Work is in progress to get it to find 302 redirects as well as determine the rating of the site.

  4. APPLICATION: Seegest -
    1. DESCRIPTION:Seegest will help you plan what movies to watch with your friends. Make a list of movies you want to see and invite your friends to do the same and we'll match them up. Review and rate movies you have seen and hand out a short and sweet URL like http://seegest.com/raghus to your friends. Mashes up Yahoo BBAuth for user registration, Amazon ECS to get movie info and YouTube to show movie clips right on seegest.

  5. APPLICATION: Chime.TV -
    1. DESCRIPTION: Chime.TV brings together millions of videos from across the web to create a TV-like experience within your browser.
    2. TECHNOLOGIES USED: Flash/ActionScript2, JavaScript, Veoh API, YouTube API, mRSS/XML from blip.tv, break.com, DailyMotion.com, Google Videos, GUBA, Kewego, and MetaCafe. Platform: LAMP (Linux, Apache2, MySQL5, PHP5).

  6. APPLICATION; FastMash -
    1. DESCRIPTION: Born out of university research on information integration and information extraction, FastMash allows users to create their own sophisticated integration applications using just mouse clicks. For example, a user can create their own mash-up to search Craig's list car classifieds by safety ratings, using under 10 clicks. Once the integration application is developed a user can easily embed his/her application as a widget.

    1. DESCRIPTION: Organizes information about cell phones and accessories. Integrates YouTube videos, ebay auctions, and reviews for cell phones and accessories.
    2. TECHNOLOGIES USED: Ruby on Rails, YouTube and ebay APIs.

  8. APPLICATION; EventsPad -
    1. DESCRIPTION: EventsPad.com is a social events calendar that aggregates, organizes, and presents interesting calendar events with rich media. Our searchable database of events information is presented with images, videos, maps, and community ratings. You can also bookmark events with popular internet bookmarking solutions, such as del.icio.us, dig, and reddit, or add events into your Yahoo! or Google online calendars.

    1. DESCRIPTION: Fast client-side dynamic mashup - RSS/Atom + SOAP + REST + XML-RPC + JSON + AJAX web services. Using techniques like DHTML and AJAX to develop an efficient browser-based container that dynamically integrates RSS/Atom feeds with Web Services and APIs directly without server-side assembly.
    2. TECHNOLOGIES USED: DHTML and AJAX, Google/MSVE/Yahoo Maps and Search, Upcoming, Flikr, LignUp, StrikeIron WS, Traffics, NOAA Weather, etc.

  10. APPLICATION; ClubStumbler.com
    1. DESCRIPTION: Get to the next club before your buzz wears off. Club Stumbler helps you plot the best route to take (with map and directions) given a bunch of clubs or pubs.
    2. TECHNOLOGIES USED: PHP + JavaScript + REST APIs (Eventful, Flickr, Google Maps, and my own "Best Route" scenario API)

  11. APPLICATION; Best Grocery Prices
    1. DESCRIPTION: Where can you get the best price on your groceries right now? This concept-only mashup originated from my disappointment with the inability to hack my car's GPS Navigation unit with Javascript and Ajax and thinking it might be nice to know where my favorite food items are on sale while I'm out and about.
