MashingVoiceWikis
From MashupCamp
Peter demo'd a construction Twiki (Enterprise Wiki) that allows workers at project sites to leave voice recorded notes that are then posted on the Construction Wiki. This is a useful for those that are mobile (not in front of a computer) to be able to keep communications updated in real-time.
Next logical steps would be a voice-to-text translation to provide the option to read text from the wiki pages. Technology providers:
- SpinVox, http://www.spinvox.com/
- SimulScribe, http://www.simulscribe.com/
This is an engaged group of people sharing and discussing ideas, so I am having fun here at Mashup Camp. One person had a great idea of taking pictures with your cell phone, then voice annotate and post them directly into a Twiki which can then be useful for auditing purposes.
Discussion went pretty deep into the technical side which was useful for those that wanted to understand that level of detail. More business ideas were shared:
- Further these high volume routing calls coming into the TWiki - into a call tracking system.
- Make it work offline. Enable people to fill out a form, annotate with pictures (for example, a car accident) then have it synch later. This provides mobile workers to cleanly capture information immediately. Suggestion was to then integrate that with Google Gears.
